Chlorination Contact Chambers
Many wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) chlorinate, and subsequently de-chlorinate, their effluent wastewater streams.
SolarBee’s better mixing in the chlorine contact chamber allows for proper disinfection using less chlorine, thus saving money on chlorine generation. Less chlorine used in disinfection will also result in fewer trihalomethanes (THMs), a common disinfection byproduct (DBP).
In some cases, small amounts of ammonia are mixed in to help reduce THMs, too. In these cases, SolarBee’s effective mixing is beneficial to thoroughly mix in the ammonia.
